The first day of the When We Were Young Festival 2022 has been cancelled.

The first day of the When We Were Young Festival 2022 was cancelled due to a weather alert.

"The safety of our audience members, performing artists, and staff will always come first" they said.

The 2022 festival, which has been described as "an epic line-up of emo and rock bands from the past two decades," was announced earlier this year to much fanfare, with My Chemical Romance and Paramore topping the bill.

The pop-punk and emo-heavy Las Vegas event, which was also set to feature Bring Me The Horizon, Bright Eyes, The Used, and others, was supposed to begin today (Saturday October 22), but the first day has been cancelled due to high winds.

"Organizers of the When We Were Young Festival have spent the last several days proactively preparing the festival grounds for a windy Saturday," according to a statement.

They added that they are following the reports of the National Weather Service and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

They also said that those you've bought tickets will get refund in as little as 30 days.

"Sunday's weather looks sunny, with no wind advisories, according to the National Weather Service." Additional dates for When We Were Young, including Sunday, October 23 and Saturday, October 29, are being added."
