This programme is already on pause while a federal appeals court in St. Louis hears a separate complaint filed by six states opposing it.

District Court Judge Mark Pittman, a Fort Worth-based appointee of former President Donald Trump, ruled the programme usurped Congress' jurisdiction to establish laws

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals put the forgiveness scheme on hold on Oct. 21 as it evaluated whether to halt the programme

While this plan was stopped by the court, Borrowers have been encouraged by the White House to continue applying for relief
